Build-A-Bear Workshop, a beloved retail location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, reached out to IDM Signs & Graphics through their management company to address issues with their exterior signage. Known for creating memorable experiences, Build-A-Bear needed a sign that reflected their vibrant brand and welcomed customers. Unfortunately, their existing sign was dim, partially functional, and far from meeting their high standards.
The Challenge:
During our initial survey, we identified several significant problems with the sign:
1. Dull and Dim Lighting: The entire sign lacked brightness, making it hard to notice, especially in the evening.
2. Flickering on the Right Side: The right section of the sign was blinking, typically indicative of a transformer issue.
3. Aging LED Components: After replacing the transformer, the blinking persisted, and the lighting remained dim. Further tests revealed that the LEDs themselves were outdated and of poor quality, rendering them ineffective.
With plans to update the store’s branding in the future, Build-A-Bear’s management sought a solution that would revitalize the current sign without committing to a completely new design.
Our Solution:
We proposed two options for Build-A-Bear:
1. Retrofit the Existing Sign: Replace the outdated LEDs with our in-house, premium-quality LEDs to restore brightness and functionality, keeping the existing sign structure.
2. Fabricate a New Sign: Create a brand-new sign that could incorporate Build-A-Bear’s branding updates when finalized.
